What does it cost to certify?

How long is the exam and where do I sit it?
Most ITS exams run about 50 minutes. You sit them at a Certiport Authorized Testing Center in one of our 10 countries. Online exams on Compass Cloud are offered only where there is no testing center, need a webcam, and any interruptions are the candidate’s liability.
Does an ITS certification expire?
ITS certifications earned on or after June 18, 2025 are valid for 5 years. To stay current after that, you recertify by passing the current version of the exam. Certifications earned before that date don’t expire.
Do I get college credit for passing?
Yes. The American Council on Education’s ACE Learning Evaluations recommends 3 college credits per ITS exam passed. Many universities accept this for elective or IT credit.
